Interviews

Louis and Steve Aoki have given a lot of interviews recently, most of which deal with the same issues: the beginning of their collaboration, the fans, Louis' mum, Freddie, One Direction.

Ryan Seacrest wants to know something about One Direction status at the moment:

Louis and Steve explain why they teamed up:

Steve shares his feelings about the One Direction fans. He compares the fans to the army of bees going around and doing amazing work.

Here you can hear him speaking:

Louis and Steve interview each other. Louis uses an American accent, and Steve tries to speak with a British accent:

This morning, Louis and Steve performed at The Today Show. As the presenters noticed, they "were welcomed to the TODAY plaza with some of the loudest screams we've ever heard"

While backstage at The Tonight Show, they recorded Tales from Tour. They share some stories, e.g. about stealing golf carts.

After the show, Louis tweeted:

Later, Louis and Steve were interviewed at several radio stations. They answered fans' questions during Twitter takeover on Sirius XM .

Rock, paper, scissors

The 2017 Women's March

On 21st January, millions of people in the US and all over the world marched in the Women's March protesting against Donald Trump's administration. The marches were to promote women's rights, immigration reform,  health care reform, environmental issues, and to counter rascism, islamophobia, rape culture, LGBTQ abuse.

According to some sources, between 3.5 million to 4.2 million people marched in the US. There are the largest protests in the US history. With solidarity marches across the globe, the Women's March is the largest protest march ever.

Harry Styles, who has just arrived in Los Angeles, tweeted:

However, Harry's tweet didn't go down well with all his fans. Some people believe that he should have told millions of his followers to vote against Trump. Poor Harry!

At the march in Chicago, a sign with the well-known lyrics of One Direction song was seen.

A new word: "womyn" is becoming popular. It is an alternative spelling for "women" which removes the word "men" from the word itself.  It's actually Scottish in origin, but some feminists see it as a way to establish independence from the male, or patriarchal norm.

Freddie's Birthday

Freddie, Louis' son, turned one on 21st January. Actually, nothing is known about the celebration. Late on Saturday, Briana posted a muted three-second video snippet showing Louis, Freddie and the birthday cake.

And at the same time Louis tweeted:
"Had a special day today with my birthday boy. Thanks for all the lovely messages!"

Some inquisitive fans have noticed that none of Louis' bandmates or close friends congratulated him on "the special day". Not even Steve Aoki, his "brother for life", who has been really active on the social media recently and vocal about anything connected with Louis.
What is more, on the same day, Louis went to Craig Davis concert and took numerous photos with fans. And then, he and his pals enjoyed themselves at the Bootsy Bellows club.

If it is true that Louis has always been trying to break the fourth wall* and tell the fans more than he is allowed to in the official narrative, we should pay attention to what he said in one of his recent interviews:
"...and the fans put the pieces together, before, y'know, there's any kind of announcement, or anything like that, y'know. They'd be, like, even if we're just back and forth, liking each other's photos on instagram, to them, they know exactly what that means, y'know."

So, for the umpteenth time Louis has implied that they are watching the social media closely and that the fourth wall does not exist. If so, what happened yesterday is meaningful.

*The fourth wall is a performance convention in which an invisible, imagined wall separates actors from the audience. The actors ignore the audience, focus their attention exclusively on the dramatic world, and remain absorbed in its fiction. "Breaking the fourth wall" is any instance in which this performance convention is violated. This can be done through either directly referencing the audience or the work the characters are in.

Louis and Danielle split up

It is official: Louis Tomlinson and Danielle Campbell have split up. They haven't been seen together for a long time and reportedly spent Christmas  and New Year's Eve apart. They were a couple for about a year, did a number of pap  walks but their relationship never seemed genuine. Danielle's last social media interaction with Louis was on his birthday, 24th December, when she posted this old photo:

Now, it looks like a farewell kiss, doesn' t it?

"JUST HOLD ON" PROMO

Louis Tomlinson and Steve Aoki have started an intensive promo for their track "Just Hold On". Yesterday they visited Radio Disney and Sirius XM Hits1.

Thanks to Steve's team, there are numerous photos and videos providing a thorough coverage.

While the conversation at Radio Disney was nice, the interviewers at Serious XM turned out to be rude and invasive. They ignored Steve and made Louis talk about his late mother although he said he was uncomfortable with that topic.

The only part worth noting is what Louis said about Zayn:

"It’s a strange feeling but it’s nice. I think we’ve got to a point now, you know, I think a lot of us have spoken recently, me and Zayn have spoken recently. Got to a point now where, you know, you can just really, I don’t know, be happy for each other, and you know, things have happened in the past of course, and you know, yeah. It’s great. His first song was an absolute smash and that’s a great song. So, yeah, it’s nice."
No wonder, Louis took a photo that might be expressing his feelings:

Steve and Louis are performing on Jimmy Fallon's  Tonight Show on 24th January.

BRIT Award 2017 nominees revealed

Zayn Malik has been nominated for best British single with his track "Pillowtalk".
Zayn will be battling it out with his former group One Direction for British artist video of the year. The latter for "History".
The 2017 Brit Awards take place on 22nd February.
Louis had prerecorded a few comments on the event and the nominees.

Louis says Zayn "smashed" it with "Pillowtalk". It sounds diplomatic and scripted, so obviously Zouis is still dead. But some fans are happy.

Some fans even believe that One Direction's feud with Zayn is truly over. Why? Well, Zayn liked a birthday tweet sent to him by Liam Payne, which read: "@zaynmalik Happy birthday bro! Hope all is well and you have a good day celebrating it"
Louis' involvement in the promotion of the 2017 Brits might mean that he and Steve Aoki will be performing at the ceremony.
On 12th January, Louis posted a photo to let everybody know he is writing music again.
Louis: "Another great session today! Feels good to be writing again. Thanks for today guys!"

One of the people in the pic is Jesse Thomas, an American singer and songwriter. She wrote:

Last Friday, Louis, Oli, Calvin and other friends were partying at Bootsy Bellows in Los Angeles.

The following day, amid the growing rumours of Louis and Danielle break-up, Louis posted an old photo with Danielle's dog.

To be continued... ;)

In the meantime, Harry with fans in London yesterday, 14th January. :)

"@Harry_Styles What a well-mannered young man. Lovely to meet you and your pal today!"

Happy New Year!

In all probability, all the members of One Direction spent New Year's Eve in the UK.
Niall had fun with some friends in London.
Here with Laura Whitmore, Natalia Jorquera, his rumoured girlfriend, and one more unidentified girl:

Today, Niall tweeted:

Louis spent New Year's Eve with his family. He wrote: "Hope everyone has a lovely night tonight! Thank you to absolutely every person that has been there for me and supported me this year." He added: "Excited for what 2017 brings! Thank you again for helping me do what I love. Love you all x"
It seems that Danielle wasn' t with him this time. She was seen with her friends instead.
Today, Louis posted a selfie:

"I've felt better! Hello 2017!!"

Harry's tweet was brief, as usual:

As yet, Liam is nowhere to be seen.
