June, Niall attended Glastonbury
Festival. Glastonbury is a five-day event that takes place every year at the
end of June on a farm in the south-west of England. In addition to music, the
festival hosts dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and other arts.
Glastonbury
is the largest festival in the world and is now attended by around 180,000
people. It started in 1970 when Michael Eavis decided to hold a music festival
and about 1,500 people attended. Entry cost £1 and festival-goers received free
milk.
Glastonbury is famous for its mud. On rainy days there are thousands of mud-covered people wearing wellingtons.
The best acts this year were Adele and Coldplay performing with Barry Gibb of Bee Gees.
