Niall Horan at the Troubadour

Niall Horan took to the stage at the Troubadour in Los Angeles Thursday night (Sept. 21) for a secret show as part of a #SpotifyFansFirst event. Along with the die-hard fans in the room, former One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson was in attendance, looking on proudly from the balcony with his assistant Oli Wright. Tomlinson later tweeted praise for his old friend, saying:

Niall:  “I have wanted to play this venue since I was about 12 years old and last night I did just that .it was a special gig and one I won’t forget too soon. Want to say a huge thank you to @spotify for putting it on and bringing down a very lovely and respectful audience . Also , thank you to the lovely people who did come . You made it very beautiful for me and I really appreciate that . Thank you xxxx”

Horan and Tomlinson were later photographed together having a good time post-show. Directioners were excited to see Nouis back together again, obsessing over the look on Horan’s face as he looked up to Tomlinson in the balcony while singing “Fool’s Gold” – coindicentally, a One Direction song.

Niall Horan's "Too Much To Ask" video

Niall: “Well, I know, in me heart of hearts, that no matter what any of us do individually, it’ll never be as big as One Direction. And that’s there. I have stuff that I want to write about, I have a sound that I think I’ve got down, and […] it’s a competitive world out there, and in a world where I can bring this sort of music out and it be somewhat successful, then I’m happy with that.”

Niall attended Harry's concert in Los Angeles yesterday.

On 20th September, BBC Radio One posted a funny interview with Niall. Greg James presented an alternative version of Niall's life and career. :)

Harry Styles Live On Tour

On 19th September, Harry kicked off his tour with a concert in San Francisco. He played the songs from his solo album.

He performed a few covers, including "Just a Little Bit of Your Heart", a ballad he co-wrote for Ariana Grande. Ariana commented:

He also sang "Stockholm Syndrome" and "What Makes You Beautiful", proving that he doesn't want to erase his past.

Set List:
"Ever Since New York"
"Two Ghosts"
"Carolina"
"Stockholm Syndrome" (One Direction cover)
"Sweet Creature"
"Only Angel"
"Woman"
"Meet Me in the Hallway"
"Just a Little Bit of Your Heart" (Ariana Grande cover)
"What Makes You Beautiful" (One Direction cover)
"Kiwi"
Encore:
"From the Dining Table"
"The Chain" (Fleetwood Mac cover)
"Sign of the Times"

Rolling Stone: “During that same track (“Woman”), a fan threw a rainbow flag on stage, and in direct opposition to the song's heteronormative storyline, he subversively twirled around with it before attaching it to his microphone where it remained for the rest of the main set.”

Rolling Stone: “At 23 years old and with only 10 songs to his name, Styles has the charm, presence and feistiness of a veteran rocker twice his age, strutting and strumming across the stage with a delicate power that makes him seem as accessible as he is otherworldly.”

Harry was wearing a custom corduroy Gucci jacket and matching flares, paired with a Gucci shirt.

Special members-only event with Harry Styles at the GRAMMY Museum

Ahead of a Sept. 20 show at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre, Harry Styles took the stage at downtown L.A.’s Grammy Museum on Friday night (Sept. 15) for a Q&A conducted by writer and filmmaker Cameron Crowe. Styles, who released his self-titled debut in May, was joined by producer Jeff Bhasker for a lively, often laugh-out-loud discussion of how the album came together, Styles’ experience filming “Dunkirk”

Harry:

“We started the record without a label, so the start of the process didn’t feel like I was making any sort of commitment and I didn’t feel any pressure, [like] ‘You have to make this,’ or anyone have an influence on what they thought I should be making. It was just a group of us writing stuff to have fun and writing some songs and seeing what came out with the thought that I would actually play them myself. I think that’s a large part of the record is that it started that way. It didn’t start from, what do they want? I think if you’re lucky, I didn’t go into making the album or leave the band coming out of it feeling suppressed or feeling like I never got to write what I wanted to write. I loved being in the band so much and got to learn so much, and with this, I felt like I could just have a good time working out what it would sound like if I made an album.”
Styles’ favorite track on the album is “From the Dining Table,” which he said is, “The one that makes me feel the most,” adding that, “it’s the most different than what I expected myself to write and it’s probably the most honest that I’ve been in a song as well.”

The album’s stylistic choices — what some deem as musical nods to classic rock acts like David Bowie and Pink Floyd — were also illuminated, with Styles explaining that his father listened to “a lot of Queen and Pink Floyd,” while his mother favored Norah Jones and Shania Twain. “I’m a huge Shania Twain fan,” said Styles (he later played a snippet of a Twain song on a kazoo, by request from an audience member).    (thedailystyles)
